The governor of Nineveh province, Najm al-Jubouri, revealed on Wednesday that the start date for the reconstruction of Mosul airport in full will be during next February.

Al-Jubouri said, "In the middle of February, the construction work of Mosul airport will be started by Turkish investment companies."

He added, "The agreement on the date of construction came after the support of the federal government to start the reconstruction of the airport in full."

In the meantime, the governor of Nineveh denied the reports that "there is an idea to launch the waterfront project for investment as tourism and entertainment areas."

And he stated, "There is no truth to the idea of establishing the river front to invest as tourist and recreational areas in most of the heritage and archeological areas located on the Tigris River in the old city of Mosul."
