Baghdad / Al-Akhbariya:
US officials said today, Friday, that the United States is sending nearly three thousand additional soldiers to the Middle East from the 82nd Airborne Division.

The officials, who asked not to be named, added that the forces will join approximately 750 soldiers sent to Kuwait this week.

US officials revealed this week that thousands of additional soldiers may be sent to the area and that forces have been told to prepare to deploy. According to "Reuters".

And the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced, at dawn today, Friday that it carried out a strike near Baghdad airport in Iraq, in which the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Major General Qassim Soleimani, was killed.

For its part, Tehran announced that it would respond harshly to the assassination, which also affected cadres of the Iraqi popular crowd.

This process has received widespread condemnation from Arab countries and organizations, Russia and Iran, indicating the extreme danger of such operations and their consequences, and Iran has promised a harsh response to the United States.
