United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed on Friday that the world cannot afford another war in the Gulf.

"TRT" quoted a UN spokesman as saying, "Guterres called on leaders to show maximum restraint."

Guterres added, "The world cannot afford another war in the Gulf."

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron expressed concern about a possible regional escalation following the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Qods Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The popular crowd announced early today, Friday, the martyrdom of the deputy head of the crowd, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and the commander of the Quds Force, Major General Qasim Soleimani, in a US raid in Baghdad.
