Stressing that targeting them today, Friday, was not targeting their people as much as it is an outright assassination of the spirit of the Iraqi resistance to the forces of arrogance and arrogance represented by America and Israel, and it is targeting the jihad, the opposition and the international revolutionary spirit, but we say to them that you will not lose our resolve and our jihad and I ask God to spare the region from danger, Our beloved Iraq avoids dangers and countries, and I wish everyone the wisdom and sophistication.

Baghdad - Mawazine News

The American New York Times published a report on the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Qassim Soleimani, and the deputy head of the popular crowd, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.

According to the newspaper’s account, Soleimani was targeted by several missiles from a drone, and that the missiles targeted two cars carrying Soleimani and other officials.

In turn, the US "Associated Press" reported some details about the operation, saying that the raid targeting Soleimani took place near the cargo area at Baghdad Airport, and that his targeting took place moments after he left the plane that took him from Lebanon.

Security sources said that the motorcade was composed of two cars that were struck by missiles as they left the airport.

She added, that, after leaving the plane, Soleimani joined a procession that included leaders of the popular crowd, including Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.

The official Iranian news agency, "IRNA", said that Soleimani was coming from Beirut, but an Iraqi security official said that the plane might have come from Syria or Lebanon.

After the American strike, US President Donald Trump tweeted that his country was published. End / 29 BC

Baghdad - Mawazine News

, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed on Friday that his country has done its utmost to protect Washington's interests through the American raid that led to the assassination of the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Committee, Abu Mahdi al-Muhannadi, and the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani.

Pompeo, in a tweet, said he had spoken to his British counterpart, Dominic Rap, and a member of the Chinese Political Bureau, Yang Jiechi, about Soleimani's death.

He wrote in the tweet: "We appreciate that our allies are aware of the ongoing aggressive threats posed by the Iranian Qods Force, (...) The United States remains committed to reducing the escalation."

And Washington announced earlier that it had killed the commander of the Quds Force, in a strike targeting a car he was traveling near Baghdad International Airport.

In an interview with the American "Fox" channel, Pompeo said: "We do not seek war with Iran, but we will not stand idly by and see American lives at risk."

The US Secretary of State described the strike, which was carried out using an American drone, as "legal" and that it came as a defensive measure, adding that "the risk of not moving toward Iran was huge."

In another interview with CNN, Pompeo said that with Soleimani's killing, "an imminent Iranian attack was thwarted," noting that the strike targeting Soleimani "saved American lives."

He also noted that his country "takes into account the dangers of launching Iranian cyber attacks on America," calling on Iran to "change its behavior."

When asked if there were Iranian threats to American soil, Pompeo said that "the threats in the Middle East". Ended 6/29 n

Baghdad - Mawazine News

, US President Donald Trump, on Friday, commented on the killing of the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, the commander of Soleimani, by an American strike, by posting a tweet on his account in "Twitter", in which he said that "Iran has not won a war, but it does not lose negotiations."

This comment may appear as if he carries a message to Iran, stating that resorting to negotiations with the United States will be the appropriate solution for it, instead of choosing any military method or launching attacks targeting the Americans, in the wake of Tehran's threats.

In another tweet, Trump said Soleimani "was responsible for killing a large number of demonstrators in Iran," and that "he should have been killed many years ago."

Trump's brief statement came to support his remarks by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who said in a tweet and several TV interviews that his country "is committed to reducing escalation and is not seeking war with Iran," noting at the same time that Washington is "ready to confront all Iranian threats."

Pompeo said in the tweet: "We appreciate that our allies are aware of the ongoing aggressive threats posed by the Iranian Qods Force, (...) The United States remains committed to reducing the escalation." Ended 29 / h

"The Telegraph": The assassination of Soleimani is much more dangerous than killing bin Laden and Al-Baghdadi

03.01.2020

Al-Kaabi: An end to the US recklessness inside Iraq must be called and calls for an emergency session tomorrow 5e0f3e9e4236040c612ea0c8

The British newspaper "The Telegraph" considered the assassination of Qassem Soleimani with an American air strike, one of the biggest developments in decades in the Middle East, which looks like a powder keg.

She said that this assassination exceeded its danger and its impact on the liquidation of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and the successor of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in terms of its strategic importance and repercussions.

The newspaper pointed out that the United States and Iran have been engaged in a serious confrontation that has been going on for months, but the killing of Soleimani is a major step in the escalation of the confrontation.

She noted that Israel had repeatedly missed the chances of killing Soleimani for fear of the repercussions of eliminating Iran's most powerful arm in the world, and he is a person with no power in Iran but the Supreme Leader.

And she added that the assassination of Soleimani represented a serious loss to Iran's regional agenda, but it might ignite a response that is more dangerous than his death in itself.

The idea that the assassination of Soleimani was under the guidance of the American president is the most surprising thing, given the latter's clear claim that America should be involved in costly wars.

But with Soleimani's death, the war is coming, and this is almost certain. The question is where, when and in what way.

And the Telegraph went on to analyze that, with Washington dominating the world in terms of conventional military power, Iran's advantage is the asymmetric field, through missile attacks, bombings, assassinations, and even attacks such as those that targeted Saudi oil facilities last year.

She added that the American military presence in Syria appears to be very weak after reducing its size and weakening it in terms of credibility and the trust of the partners, and any single attack on American sites could motivate Washington to withdraw, as the second abandonment of the Kurds.

In Iraq, American military and diplomatic facilities will almost certainly come under covert attack and intimidation.
