Economy News - Baghdad

The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced that the financial allocation of state employees ’salaries in next year's budget will be increased to 14 trillion dinars.

The decision of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Suleiman Al-Saffar, said that "salaries reached 38 trillion dinars last year, while in 2020 they will exceed 52 trillion dinars, while Iraq will proceed with a budget of 1/12 until the new budget is approved."

He added that "the legislator often looks for the worst in preparing the budget and determining the deficit in it, as everything mentioned in the number related to the deficit is reduced, since the difference in the selling price of oil will be taken advantage of by preparing a supplementary budget."

He explained that "the amount of oil specified for export in the budget amounted to 3 million and 800 thousand barrels, while the exported oil is more than this amount, which will provide large sums for Iraq to benefit from in reducing the deficit rate, in addition to establishing a supplementary budget as well."
