Torhan Al-Mufti, President of the High Commission for Coordination between the Iraqi Governorates, addressed Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi on amending Law No. 26 of 2019 Law of the First Amendment of the Unified Retirement Law No. 9 of 2019.



The Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted a copy of the document stating the following: "Referring to the book of the Ministry of Health - Minister's Office numbered number 5544 dated 26112019 about redressing the possibility of vacancies in some governmental sectors, especially health, including because of the amendment of the law above and for the sake of shortening time we suggest kindly agree To make a second amendment to the above law with the articles pertaining to the retirement of the health sector affiliate, and to amend the date of referral for retirement, and to make it optional from the date of December 31, 2019 to early June 2020, so that the government can financially prepare to cover the expenses arising from referring employees to retirement and Effah end of service, and this period is sufficient to state executive organs of vacant positions to dictate. "



The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, had previously approved the Unified Retirement Law, after it was passed in the House of Representatives.
