(Baghdad: Al Furat News) Iraq imported more than one million and 200,000 bicycles during the past year 2018.

The main source of these bikes was primarily China, then the European Union, and Iran. The average price of one imported bicycle was around $ 46 per bike.

The import volume reached one million and 203 thousand and 832 bicycles, at a value of $ 55 million.

The price of importing a bicycle from China was 47 dollars, while the average price of importing a bicycle from the European Union was around 25 dollars, while the import price of a single bike from Iran was 187 dollars.

It is noteworthy that the Mahmoudiyah Factory for Metal Industries and bicycles, whose average monthly expenditures are up to 30 thousand dollars, its sales for the past year were only one bike because it was unable to compete with the products on the market to introduce production mechanisms and not replace them with new industrial machines that meet the market need for different types of bikes.
