US envoy to the United Nations Kelly Kraft on Tuesday called for an end to foreign interference in Iraq.

"The Iraqi authorities have a responsibility to protect the demonstrators," Kraft said in a briefing on the situation in Iraq.

"Foreign interference in Iraq must be stopped," she said, urging Iraqi leaders to consider the roadmap put forward by Balaschart.

For his part, Mansour Al-Otaibi welcomed Kuwait's formation of a committee to investigate the killing of protesters in Iraq.

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jenin Hines Blaskhart gave a full briefing on the situation in the country.
