A number of representatives of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce said that the acts of sabotage affecting private property in the side of Rusafa caused the burning of hundreds of shops and stores and losses estimated at billions.

The meeting, chaired by the governor of Baghdad, Mohammed al-Atta, concluded to form a cell to coordinate positions in order to protect the Iraqi economy and reduce the burning cases affecting buildings in Shorja and Rashid Street.

For their part, members of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce spoke of their full support and continued support for peaceful demonstrations, and their rejection of the presence of engineers trying to distort the image of demonstrations by burning commercial buildings.

Mohammed Baqer al-Moussawi, an adviser to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, estimated the size of the losses in billions, noting that "equivalent to the budget of countries," pointing out that "one building is worth a million dollars," adding that "the number of shops that were burned exceeded 900 stores and stores, namely A source of livelihood for many families. "
