On the occasion of the International Day against Violence against Women, which falls on the 25th of November each year, the gathering of Iraqi women parliamentarians recalls the struggle of women all over the world to obtain their constitutional and legal rights and achieve social justice.

On this day, the gathering of women parliamentarians calls on the House of Representatives to speed up legislation against domestic violence because of its importance in combating and reducing violence against women in particular, and the Iraqi family in general, and to proceed with the necessary amendments in the laws that guarantee equal rights for Iraqi women.

On this occasion, the Assembly of Women Parliamentarians appreciates the role of the Arab Parliament in launching the Arab document on women's rights adopted by the Arab League. The document reflects the keenness of the Arab Parliament to support women and appreciate their positive role and active participation in building society.

The Assembly considers the importance of the demands of the Iraqi street in improving the conditions of his life, and affirms his commitment to implement these demands in accordance with the Constitution.
The gathering of women parliamentarians was never far from the concerns of the daughters and sons of our noble people, and will continue to strive to achieve what the Iraqi street aspires by legislating laws that promote the reality of life for the Iraqi citizen.
