The Committee of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the House of Representatives has confirmed its support to all journalists, media workers, unions and unions and overcome obstacles facing their work in hosting them today, headed by Deputy Samia Al-Ghalab and the presence of its members and advisors of the parliamentary institutions of civil society on Sunday 24/11/2019.

Head of the Committee, Samia Al-Ghalab, discussed with the representative of the Iraqi Journalists Union Mr. Tariq Al-Adli ways to solve the problems and overlaps between civil society organizations and trade unions and work to legislate laws that are in the interest of all segments.

The Committee also heard a detailed explanation of the establishment of the Iraqi Journalists Union and the books and publications dealing with the work of the Union.

The participants discussed the Law on the Retirement of Journalists No. 81 of 1973, as well as discussing the proposed amendments to its provisions.
