The Oil Ministry confirmed on Monday that the protests in the country since the first of October, did not cause any harm to the production and export of Iraqi oil.

Ministry spokesman Asim Jihad told "RT", "The oil production of Iraq and oil export operations, is still ongoing and stable, and was not damaged by any protests, although there are some citizens demonstrated near oil fields."

He added, "We found that the demonstrators are very careful not to prejudice the oil fields, and they were demanding jobs and services and this is their right," noting that "what is happening is cut off roads leading to some fields."

Hundreds of residents of Basra province demonstrated near the oil fields but were not exposed to them.
