The Committee on Health and Environment, chaired by MP Dr. Qutaiba Al-Jubouri and the presence of its members on Wednesday 13/11/2019, hosted the Minister of Health and Environment
To discuss the priorities of the work of the Ministry.


During the meeting, they reviewed the priorities of work in the current and future phases, which included a project to support the elementary school pupils by activating school feeding programs, and completing the projects of the lagging hospitals and opening them in the next few months.
Dr. Qutaiba al-Jubouri confirmed that the Health and Environment Committee has formed a previous committee of its members to follow up the lagging projects in Baghdad and the provinces and made important progress in this regard, pointing out that it will provide the ministry with all the priorities and information reached in order to accelerate the achievement of positive results.

They also discussed ways to support the pharmaceutical industry and local folding supplies and give priority to the supply of government and private health institutions, as the Committee confirmed its support and support for all efforts aimed at the restoration of the Iraqi pharmaceutical industry and activate it in the public and private sectors, and re-prestige of the Iraqi industry and reduce import.

Other priorities were reviewed, including legislation on the health insurance law, dealing with illegal drug trafficking and circulation, as well as the establishment of structured mechanisms to evaluate the work of doctors, nurses and health workers, as well as the twinning of specialized health institutions with international centers, and the development of committees for health and environmental planning in Iraq.
