Demonstrators in the southern province of Maysan on Tuesday continued their sit-ins and protests by closing a number of government departments.

Activists told Twilight News that the protesters entered the technical institute, shut it down and also shut down the Maysan oil company.

Protesters shut down the office of the state-run Iraqiya channel in the southern province of Maysan.

This comes in conjunction with the attempt of demonstrators at noon on Tuesday to shut down the official Iraqi channel in the province of Dhi Qar, which is witnessing angry protests of more than a week.

A local police source said that additional Iraqi security forces were deployed around al-Hout prison in Dhi Qar province, which includes terrorism convicts and prominent members of the dissolved search party after the escalation of protests in the southern province.
