Economy News - Baghdad

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Bassem Abdel Zaman announced on Tuesday his ministry's readiness to launch a 27-meal soft loan targeting some 5,400 beneficiaries.

Abdul-Zaman said in a statement reported by the official newspaper "morning" and seen by the "economic news", that the ministry "completed all the procedures for the launch of soft loans within the 27 of the loans launched in advance in the form of consecutive meals."

"The loans will include more than 5,400 beneficiaries who have made easy loans at the ministry," he said.

He stressed that "the loans will be launched soon through the Fund to support income-generating projects and will be selected by the adoption of a database that the Department of Labor and Training had prepared in advance to cover the eligible categories of applicants."

"The ministry will allocate 15 percent of the loans to the families of the martyrs, which will include about 779 beneficiaries of this category of the total covered by the loans mentioned."
