Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim received a copy of the credentials of British Ambassador to Baghdad Stephen Hickey.
Al-Hakim stressed that Iraq is seeking to establish the best relations to serve the interests of both countries, pointing out that Iraq is a fertile environment for investment because of its wealth, calling for the need for Britain to participate in the reconstruction of infrastructure and to benefit from its expertise in the development of the country.
The Minister expressed the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide everything that would succeed in his diplomatic mission and contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting was attended by the Head of the European Department and the Head of the Protocol Department.
