Economy News - Baghdad

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Operations resumed at a port and an oil refinery in southern Iraq on Thursday after protesters left the two areas, port officials and security and oil sources said.

Anti-government protesters blocked the roads leading to the Umm Qasr cargo port, halting operations for more than a week and blocking oil containers at the Nasiriyah refinery on Wednesday.

The sources said the protesters had left but did not specify why or how.
