Jordan buys 10,000 barrels of Iraqi oil a day last month

Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati announced that the quantities of oil supplied to Jordan from Iraq, for the month of October, amounted to 272 thousand barrels; transported 1,088 tankers .
Zawati said in a press statement, seen by the "economic news", that the total quantities, during the last month, amounted to 36.4 thousand tons were transferred from the Baiji refinery in Iraq to the Jordanian oil refinery in Zarqa at a rate of 10 thousand barrels per day, constituting 7% of the needs Jordan, praising the cooperation of the Iraqi side to facilitate the transfer process .
He stressed "the importance of this step in the framework of cooperation between Jordan and Iraq," pointing to "the economic and social impact of re-activation of land imports, and the subsequent rehabilitation of the land line between the two countries, and the operation of a fleet of tanks shared by both sides ."
Zawati expressed hope that the Jordanian and Iraqi sides will soon witness more cooperation relations between Jordan and Iraq in the field of energy to meet the interests of both sides by establishing an Iraqi oil export pipeline extending from Basra through Haditha and then to the port of Aqaba.
