With the participation of the delegation of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, which includes MPs Dhafer al-Ani and Ahmed al-Jubouri, concluded the work of the first plenary session of the fourth session of the second legislative term of the Arab Parliament in Cairo, Egypt.


At the opening of the session, which was held in the presence of the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Dr. President of the Arab Parliament Mishal bin Fahm Al-Selmi, affirming the solidarity of the Arab Parliament and its support for Egypt in protecting its water security and preserving its legal and historical rights and its fixed share in the Nile River, calling on Ethiopia not to harm Egypt's share of the Nile River, which is the backbone of life. To the Egyptian people.



The President of the Arab Parliament stressed during his speech that `` Palestine, Jerusalem, its land and the suffering of its steadfast people remain the central issue of the Arab Parliament, and I call on the international community to maintain international peace and security, to take immediate and urgent action to commit the occupying power Israel to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy. ''



He pointed out that the Arab Parliament follows with great concern the developments in the Republic of Iraq and condemns in the strongest terms the killing of demonstrators and security forces and the burning of state buildings. The establishment of a civil system based on citizenship and the rule of law and the fight against corruption and achieve decent living.



He condemned the foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Arab countries, especially the attacks in the Arabian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of ​​Oman, affirming the solidarity of the Arab Parliament with Saudi Arabia and its support in all measures taken to protect its vital and economic facilities. All foreign forces and armed militias are from Syrian territory.



Al-Salmi affirmed the Arab Parliament's firm and supportive stance on the legitimacy of the Republic of Yemen to face the coup and highly appreciated the agreement sponsored by Saudi Arabia between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council.

Mr. Shoukry expressed his aspiration to reach an agreement based on the American proposal in light of a sincere political will to reach this agreement, praising the common interests and historical ties between Egypt and Sudan and working hard on the water file, stressing that sincere intentions and political will will contribute to reaching an agreement between Egypt and Sudan. In turn, the Arab Parliament Speaker reiterated Egypt's support in securing its water rights in the Nile River and settling the file through dialogue.

The focus of the session of the Arab Parliament focused on the current Arab situation in light of the crises, challenges and developments experienced by the Arab countries, and discuss the efforts of the Arab Parliament to support joint Arab action and face threats and threats to Arab national security.





Representatives of the Iraqi Council of Representatives in the Arab Parliament presented their views on the issues raised in the session, especially with regard to demonstrations in Iraq, where both MP Ahmed al-Jubouri and MP Zafer al-Ani stressed the peaceful demonstrations and the need to fulfill the demands of the demonstrators and the refusal to use force against them and strongly emphasize the rejection of any external interference Iraq or any incitement against peaceful demonstrators.


The Arab Parliament voted on a resolution on the situation in Iraq, pointing out that it is following with great concern the developments in the Republic of Iraq in light of the popular protests taking place in Baghdad and some Iraqi cities since October 1 and the accompanying acts of violence that led to the death and injury of thousands of demonstrators and security forces and an attack On official state institutions and headquarters of some parties.



The resolution condemned in the strongest terms the killing of civilians and security forces and the burning of state buildings and party headquarters and the destruction of public property and the need to refer those involved in the killing of demonstrators to the Iraqi judiciary and urged the Iraqi political and popular forces to respond to the legitimate demands of the demonstrators and start a national dialogue that meets the aspirations and aspirations of the Iraqi people in decent living To fully reject any external interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Iraq and to affirm the firm position of the Arab Parliament in support of the security and stability of the Republic of Iraq and the integrity and territorial integrity of Iraq, as well as the convening of a meeting I believe that the President of the Arab Parliament shall report the Parliament's decision to the President of the League of Arab States at the level of Foreign Ministers, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, the President of the Iraqi Council of Representatives and the Prime Minister of Iraq.



The session witnessed the Arab Parliament's unanimous vote on the Arab Parliament's decision to remove Sudan from the state sponsors of terrorism and support the steps in this regard.



The Chairs of the Committee on Foreign and Political Affairs and National Security, the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs, the Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee and the Committee on Social, Educational and Cultural Affairs, Women and Youth, then presented the reports submitted to the Plenary which were voted upon.



The Iraqi delegation contributed actively during the meetings of the Arab Parliamentary Standing Committees by presenting proposals and ideas that contribute to the enhancement and development of Arab action through the participation of MP Dhafer Al-Ani in the meeting of the Committee on Foreign and Political Affairs and National Security and MP Ahmed al-Jubouri in the meeting of the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs.
