BAGHDAD / Al-Akhbar:
The victory coalition headed by Haider al-Abadi, continued its procedures for the interrogation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and his dismissal as well as meet the requirements of the demonstrators.

The coalition said in a statement received by the "news" that "victory coalition held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Haider al-Abadi to discuss the latest situation and the demands of the demonstrators."

"The country is in a real crisis and must be rescued as soon as possible, follow the demands of the demonstrators, respond to them and hold the killers to account," he said.

"It is not in the interest of the country to stay as it is, because the survival of the current government is dismantling the state and it will drop its prestige," he said.

The statement said that "the victory coalition continues to question Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi towards the withdrawal of confidence from his government and we have submitted a request for this three weeks ago, but the House of Representatives has not responded so far."

He added that "the coalition with the formation of an interim government to conduct the affairs of the country until the elections and the formation of an independent electoral commission and the participation of public opinion to change the electoral system," calling for "leaving revenge and hatred and settling accounts aside to preserve our people and fulfill the demands."
