Shafaq News / The Ministry of Defense, on Monday, the military associates who attacked the demonstrators beaten in the neighborhood of banks in Baghdad, do not represent the Iraqi army.

The ministry said in a statement received to Twilight News that "the military associates who attacked the demonstrators beaten in the neighborhood of banks in Baghdad, do not represent the Iraqi army, who sacrificed their blood for the homeland."

`` In denouncing this unacceptable behavior, the ministry calls on all its members to be commanders, commanders, officers and ranks to commit to the protection of our people in general, demonstrators in particular, vital installations and public and private property, '' the statement said, stressing that our primary duty is to defend the national life from any external aggression.

In addition, the Military Intelligence Directorate announced the opening of an investigation against associates who assaulted the students.

"In order to consolidate democratic values, which allowed the citizen the right to demonstrate peacefully, the director of military intelligence, Lieutenant General Saad Mezher al-Allaq, was briefed on the video of the assault on female students and was directed to open an immediate investigation against the negligent," it said in a statement.
