MP Taha Defense announced his resignation from the Iraqi parliament, to be the fourth resignation of its kind in two days, with the escalation of protests in the country.

"In light of the current circumstances and the great transformation expressed by our people in coming out demonstrations in most of the provinces in the past days and continues to hold steadfast and gave blood and sacrifices in all the demonstration yards in all governorates," he said. The political parties and the parties that have ruled the country for 16 years and failed miserably in the administration, construction and development, instead of building the Iraqi oppressed man and provide him with a well-off livelihood and protect his sovereignty and prestige competed for sharing positions and spoils. "

He added, "We as independent deputies elected by our masses tried to offer something to our people and our people, but we recognize that we failed to repair the deteriorating reality because of our possibilities and capabilities far less than those of the power parties and influential parties so we have to open our people and apologize to him ... The Iraqi people resigned from the House of Representatives ... ".

Raed Fahmy, Haifa al-Amin, and Muzahim al-Tamimi have all announced their resignation from the Iraqi parliament.
