KUWAIT CITY - The Kuwaiti embassy in Iraq on Friday called on Kuwaiti citizens to stay in Iraq, while urging those there to leave and stay away from gatherings and demonstrations.

In a statement, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Baghdad Salem Al-Zamanan called on Kuwaiti citizens who intend to travel to Iraq to wait and not travel for the time being as a result of the unrest and demonstrations in some Iraqi cities. Ambassador Al-Zamanan called on Kuwaiti citizens who are currently in Iraqi cities to leave as soon as possible, to take the utmost care and to stay away from gatherings and demonstrations and to follow the instructions of local authorities so that the date of departure is possible.

He explained that in case of need for assistance can contact the Kuwaiti Embassy on the number (07802604123).

Iraq is witnessing a wave of popular protests in Baghdad and a number of central and southern provinces to demand the overthrow of the government and the provision of services and the fight against corruption.
