statement

Iraqi Environment & Health Association UK
On the proceedings of the seventh scientific conference held on Saturday 28 September 2019 in London

"Renewable Energy in Iraq: Protecting the Environment and Promoting Sustainable Development"
The Iraqi Society for Environment and Health in the UK organized a scientific conference entitled "Renewable Energy"

In Iraq: is to protect the environment and promote sustainable development "and for one day at the University of Yusel

The conference was attended by a number of guests and academics
Iraqi experts and researchers interested in renewable energy in Iraq and representatives of associations
Iraqi and medical in the UK and the participation of a number of doctoral students envoys.
Opening session

The conference began its work by standing one minute to mourn the lives of the martyrs of the Iraqi people
Freedom, democracy, reform, and against war, corruption and terrorism, and then the professor opened
Dr. Gihan Baban is the founder and president of the Iraqi Environment and Health Association in the United Kingdom

The conference, with its inaugural address, underscored the current importance of energy discussion and resource diversification

Energy to achieve the goal of strengthening national security and achieving sustainable economic development through

Investment in renewable energy, which is also a support for environmental security nationally and globally
For reducing carbon emissions and reducing the risks of climate change and global warming.
She pointed out that energy is one of the basic components in the world and has multiple sources if it is
Natural resources are then called renewable energy because they are generated through the exploitation of natural phenomena such as the sun

Water, wind and waves to generate thermal and electrical energy or geothermal energy or fermentation
Organic materials for ethanol production and the use of animal waste for methane production or solid waste conversion

Unlike non-renewable sources such as fossil fuels, they are renewable
Generates clean, environmentally friendly, sustainable energy that contributes to reducing carbon emissions and is renewable

They also have an important role to play by promoting environmental, economic, social and security development
the National . This energy is used in vital areas such as electricity and heat production in industrial sectors

For domestic use and also in the transportation sector. Then I moved to the issue of climate change which became

A decisive issue in this century is the change in weather patterns such as storms and winds that threaten
Food production, rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding. And all because
The intensity of industrialization, deforestation, fires in green areas and most recently in the Amazon forests
Considered the world's lung, has led to higher amounts of greenhouse gas emissions and higher

The average global temperature increased by 85.0 ° C from 1880 to 2012 and the oceans became
Warmer, the amounts of snow and ice dwindled in the poles and sea level rose, which will lead to
Irreversible changes in the major ecosystems and climate system of our planet.

And then I moved to challenges
Environmental pollution in Iraq due to the serious deterioration in air quality in Iraq due to chemical pollution
Biochemicals and microorganisms with increased rates of heart disease and injuries
The Iraqi Environment and Health Association in the Kingdom

United, official and popular for the issuance of a special law on the protection of air in Iraq and also
The fearsome accumulation of waste in all Iraqi provinces, especially in Baghdad and Basra, has provided the Assembly

Specific waste treatment projects of different types reflect the modern international contexts around recycling
Leverage them as a private investment area by converting waste into renewable energy and minimizing waste
Health risks to residents and neighborhoods. And then moved to the issue of financial support
The activities of the Association, which represents a major challenge to the expansion of its activities.

Then the speech of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London delivered by Deputy Ambassador and Minister Plenipotentiary Mrs. Joan

Khoikha addressed the importance of energy for developing countries and their production in line with environmental protection requirements

It noted the support and cooperation of the Iraqi government with the efforts
To reduce the risk of climate change, especially as Iraq has been ranked among the five most vulnerable countries

To climate change that leads to migration and displacement of people as a result of natural disasters and droughts

Desertification and water scarcity. She concluded by praising the efforts of the Iraqi government, though
Challenges and Obstacles to Preserving the Environment and Providing Better Life for Citizens. It was followed by a speech

Iraqi Cultural Attaché in London Dr. Nahi Yassin Al-Rikabi, who pointed to the importance of producing alternatives to energy

Scientific advances have allowed the use of natural phenomena such as water, waves and the sun to produce them and also to importance

Community awareness and the introduction of alternative energy in the curriculum and pointed to the role of the mission in supporting

Iraqi envoys, many of whom have achieved significant successes and superiority, some of whom have obtained patents

He concluded by referring to the health consequences of environmental pollution.
And then a special paragraph to honor a number of academics and media professionals by presenting the distinguished shield of the conference

Energy such as fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas, renewable energy)
Mechanical from water, dams, waves, wind, solar and thermal energy
Underground biomass and hydrogen gas (and nuclear energy) indicated preferences for use
Dams for the generation of clean, permanent electricity are currently 18% of global energy production
Renewal and its preference for Iraq and then moved to other forms such as biomass and energy
Wind and solar energy and the limited use in the Arab world and finally made a comparison
Renewable energy, including investment, operating costs, and beyond
Focus on the backgrounds of hydropower in Iraq with statistics and tables
Including Iraq owns five dams producing electricity and pointed to the preferences of this energy and
Obstacles such as water levels and Iraq occupies an advanced position in the production of hydropower
Compared to the Arab world, there are future plans for seven other dams in Iraq that contribute to generation
Extra electric power.

2. Lecture by Dr. Hussein Chalabi, an oil expert on "Renewable Energy Site"
Energy sector, which contains fossil energy from oil and gas and renewable energy
He referred to the International Energy Agency's (IEA) decisions in the transition to increasing the volume of renewable energy.

He pointed out
To some concrete examples of this transformation and presented slides presented figures and related data
As it seems globally, renewable sources of energy from the sun, wind and water
It is the most common and concludes with some examples of technological advances that coincide with this
Transformation is like growing numbers of electric cars.

3. Then followed by a lecture by the oil expert and consultant at the Ministry of Oil, Dr. Faleh Al-Amer on
“The Future of Renewable Energy in Transition and Its Impact on Iraq”
One of the current challenges facing the Iraqi oil sector and then moved to the definition of aspects
Renewable energy and the most important types and ratios and then the advantages of solar energy and examples of evolution

Its use in the world and stressed in a talk about the existence of a real possibility to use energy sources
Renewable, but subject to the availability of administrative, technical and financial requirements and address obstacles in the transformation
Progressive to a greater role for renewable energy in Iraq. And thrown on his behalf because of his presence in
Iraq.

It was followed by discussions on water management and dams and how to use them for power generation
The prospects and prospects for renewable energy and also if there is a role for fossil energy in the future.
