The British ambassador to Iraq, John Wilkes, said that there is no need for conspiracy theories on the demonstrators, pointing out that their demands are legitimate and long-term.

"There is no need for conspiracy theories, the main demands of long-term and legitimate protesters," Wilkes said in a tweet on his official Twitter account.

"The government of Iraq must protect Iraqis, using its own national security forces."
