The United Nations has expressed its deep regret over developments in Iraq, where more than 100 people have been killed during appearances in Baghdad and most of the southern cities of the country over the past five days.

The Special Representative of the United Nations in Iraq , Jenin Hennes-Blachart, via " Twitter " Saturday evening that she "deeply saddened by the unjustified loss of life."

"Five days of reports of deaths and injuries, this must stop. I call on all parties to stop and think, and those responsible for violence must be held accountable, so that the spirit of unity throughout Iraq can prevail ."

The popular protests broke out in Iraq and was overwhelmed by the use of violence, including sniping operations against demonstrators demanding the improvement of living conditions and create additional employment opportunities for young people and the departure of "corrupt" government.
