The Iraqi delegation to the Civil Aviation Authority headed by Ali Khalil Ibrahim discussed   on the sidelines of the 40th General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held in Montreal with the Executive Director of the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA Mr. Patrick Ky -To develop and improve the control procedures of national airlines.

The Director General of the European Aviation Safety Agency ( EASA) reviewed Progress in the field of work and improvement of the reality of control procedures on the work of national airlines as a result of continued support by the ICAO Regional Office within the plan (leaving no country behind NCLB))   Adopted by FAO.

Indicating the nature of the level of support and future cooperation provided by EASA Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, which will significantly change the reality of the work of civil aviation.

He stressed that the European side during the meeting expressed interest and cooperation in all areas of   work to develop the reality of Iraqi civil aviation.

Iraq participated in the 40th General Assembly meetings of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held in Montreal, Canada to coincide with its 75th anniversary.

According to the Information Office of the Civil Aviation Authority, Director Ali Khalil Ibrahim said in his speech during the conference that air transport has witnessed a remarkable development, as the number of air carriers operating to Iraqi airports reached 50 regional and international carriers, and this number is expected to increase during the coming period. .



Ibrahim pointed out that Iraq is working with all its capabilities to be an active part in all the activities of international civil aviation organizations, especially the International Civil Aviation Organization, noting that the Authority is currently working on a program to develop national capabilities in cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization represented by the Middle East Regional Office in the field of safety and security Aviation and air transport in response to the significant developments in the civil aviation sector in Iraq, including the activities of this program to establish five training workshops in the field of aviation security in Baghdad, as well as the visit of more than a delegation of safety specialists to develop air safety procedures within The plan was prepared in coordination with the Eastern Region Office
Middle.



Ibrahim called on all Member States to join efforts to achieve a safe and sound environment for civil aviation as well as to increase the capabilities of the regional offices of the International Civil Aviation Organization to be able to continue the successes we are seeing fruit clearly, stressing at the same time the need to support initiatives and proposals for the development of air corridors network between States in order to achieve Better aerodynamics for international air traffic.



On the sidelines of the conference, the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority and his accompanying delegation met with the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Dr. Fang Liu.



The delegation explained the desire of Iraq to develop this sector because it is an important tributary of the national economy and invited the Secretary-General of the Organization to visit Iraq and see first hand the reality of the work of the Authority, while the Secretary of the Organization lauded the effective presence of the Iraqi delegation and steps to develop this sector Flying through the plan to leave no country behind (NCLB), pointing out that Iraq occupies a prominent position in view of its moral and geographical role.
