The Legal Committee held a meeting chaired by Deputy Chairman Mohamed Al-Ghazi and the presence of its members on Saturday 21/9/2019 to discuss a number of proposals and draft laws on its agenda.

At the outset of the meeting, the committee hosted the chairman of the martyrs committee, MP Abdul Ilah Al-Nayli, to discuss the law on compensating those affected by military operations, military mistakes and terrorist operations No. 20 of 2009.

The Legal Committee stressed the need to coordinate between the various parliamentary committees with the Legal Committee in the legislation of any law as the main committee in the legislation of any law.

For his part, Chairman of the Committee of Martyrs MP Abdul Ilah Al-Nayli said that the amendment of the Law on Compensation of Victims No. 20 of 2009 needs to be discussed and coordinated between the two committees concerned legal and martyrs.

The meeting discussed the articles of the law, including the number of main and subcommittees in Baghdad and the provinces and the choice of staff of staff working in the offices of inspectors to move to other institutions or stay in their ministries, in addition to proposals of the martyrs and sovereigns and gentlemen MPs to amend the law.
The legal committee noted that the purpose of the amendment of the law is to prevent duplication of tasks and accelerate anti-corruption measures.

The Legal Committee has also started its discussions on the law for replacing the negative penalty for freedom with money and the draft law on public-private partnership.

The meeting agreed to assign MP Ammar Al-Shibli, a representative of the Legal Committee, to attend the meetings of the Finance Committee to discuss the draft law of partnership between the public and private sectors.
