First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Karim Al Kaabi, on Thursday, with his Czech counterpart Wojtek Philippe to discuss strengthening partnership and investment to improve the electric power networks and communications.

"Kaabi received today his Czech counterpart Vojtech Philip and activated bilateral relations, especially economic ones, friendship committees and the implementation of the memorandums of understanding," a statement from his office said.

Kaabi said, according to the statement, "Iraq has great investment opportunities and distinct and unprecedented in Baghdad and the provinces."

Iraqi parliamentary delegation: We will push a package of supportive legislation and attractive to investors


The Iraqi parliamentary delegation in Prague that the House of Representatives is determined to pass a package of legislation that support the orientation of the state in general in attracting foreign companies and the private sector, and create a safe and stable environment for investors.

This came during a meeting that included Mr. Chairman of the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee Walid al-Sahlani, and a member of the Security and Defense Committee Mr. Faleh al-Jabara, with the presidency and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Czech House of Representatives.

He pointed out the Iraqi delegation during the meeting held on Thursday 19 September 2019 to the investment opportunities presented in the field of oil refining and construction of refineries in the provinces, calling on Czech companies to be in Baghdad and coordination in the subject of the establishment of metro and electric trains and activate training programs for security forces.

In turn, the Czech Committee praised the great regional role played by Iraq and the availability of the elements of trade partnership between the two countries, stressing that Iraq is an important economic hub, and Prague is fully prepared to invest the available opportunities.

Sayyed Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, member of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, on Thursday evening, September 19, 2019 with the Czech Foreign Minister to facilitate the granting of entry visas “visa” for Iraqis, especially students, economists and businessmen, pointing out that the legislative and executive authorities are moving as a team towards attracting international companies And to overcome all obstacles that can face the private sector and investors.

"The visit of these international delegations to Iraq is a positive sign, and evidence that Iraq has reached the stage of economic recovery, and that the arrival of countries, capital and investors to establish large and investment projects is a sign of that," committee member Mazen al-Faili said.

The Iraqi parliamentary delegation met in Prague on Thursday 19 September 2019 with the Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee of the Czech House of Representatives, Mr. Radim Viala and a number of members of the Committee, where they discussed a range of issues concerning the nature and terms of reference of the work of parliamentary committees.
The Chairman of the Services and Reconstruction Committee, Mr. Walid Al-Sahlani, focused on the priorities of the legislative and executive authorities in Iraq, which is the development of the sector "services and reconstruction" and the advancement of the enactment of relevant laws.
The Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Water, MP Salam al-Shammari, stressed the need to benefit from Czech expertise in the field of pumps and agricultural mechanization and the development of livestock and related matters.
In turn, Mr. Hassan Al-Masoudi, Vice-Chairman of the Higher Education Committee, stressed the need to draw up a long-term strategic roadmap and educational policy that would conclude twinning agreements between Iraqi and Czech universities and increase scholarships for Iraqi students.
