Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, described the size of amendments to the draft law on information crimes as "comprehensive," noting that the draft sent by the government to the House of Representatives a few years ago changed its texts by a high rate due to the presence of large variables on the communications and information sector. It is supposed to be addressed in this important law, whether for the country or government and even the Iraqi citizen.

His Excellency said during a meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2019, represented by the Prime Minister's Advisor and Communications Advisor, Ms. Joan Fouad Masoum: “The importance of this law comes from the fact that it concerns many sectors such as media, communications, civil society organizations, security services and citizens, and we treated them as Real partners in writing and drafting the provisions of the law in its new form, which is hoped to take its way in the legislation during the next few days after the draft is presented to the relevant bodies of parliamentary committees and sectoral.

During the meeting, he discussed the most important variables that start from the name of the law and end with punitive paragraphs and positive reasons. Other laws relating to communications and the stages they have reached before they are put to a vote. ”
