It is hoped that a high-ranking Lebanese government delegation headed by Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Batish will visit Baghdad next month to discuss the economic issues between the two countries.

The head of the Lebanese-Iraqi Businessmen Association, Abdul-Wadud al-Nsouli, said in a statement published by the official newspaper "Al-Sabah" and seen by the "Economy News", that "a ministerial delegation headed by the Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Btaish will visit Iraq on October 7, Within the work of the Lebanese-Iraqi Ministerial Committee.

The delegation, which will include representatives of private sector companies and government will discuss over three days with Iraqi officials trade and tourism exchange, arbitration and the Lebanese merchants and government cooperation.

Al-Nsouli expressed his hope to "activate the joint trade between the two countries through land routes through Jordan and Syria, after these roads were closed for the past period, and the limited arrival of Lebanese goods through the ports of Basra only."

A high-ranking Lebanese government delegation headed by Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Btaish will visit Baghdad next month to discuss the economic issues between the two countries.


The visit comes as a continuation of the previous official visits between Baghdad and Beirut, which culminated in the visit of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri during the past months to Baghdad, and to discuss with Iraqi officials on many trade and economic issues, as well as strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries.


The head of the Lebanese-Iraqi Businessmen Association, Abdul-Wadud al-Nsouli, told Al-Sabah: “A ministerial delegation headed by the Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Mansour Btaish will visit Iraq on the 7th of October next. He stressed that the delegation, which will include representatives of private sector companies and government will discuss over three days with Iraqi officials trade and tourism exchange, arbitration and the belongings of Lebanese traders and government cooperation.
