Dhi Qar Agriculture Directorate revealed on Monday new steps to achieve self-sufficiency of table eggs to control high prices.


"The Directorate, in coordination with the local government, is taking serious steps towards achieving self-sufficiency in table eggs through the establishment of new poultry fields and working in a cage-breeding system to cover the needs of the governorate," Dhi Qar Faraj Nahi, director of agriculture, said in a statement. And self-sufficiency. ”


Nahi pointed out that “there are more than 10 poultry fields distributed by five in the cities of Nasiriyah, Al-Fajr and Qalat Sukkar producing about 600 cartons per day of eggs.” It will reach the desired goal in the coming period. ”


Nahi added that "this action comes within the framework of the Directorate's efforts to curb the rise of the price of the egg layer in the local market and maintain stability," noting that "there is a joint committee to follow up directly to curb the rise in egg prices."
