Amman, Aug 1 (Petra) - Acting Prime Minister Dr. Rajai Al-Moasher underlined the depth of the historical and brotherly relations between Jordan and Iraq. He stressed the kingdom's keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation and reach a strategic partnership that serves the two brotherly countries. 

Al-Muasher, during a meeting on Thursday with the Chairman of the Committee for Services and Reconstruction in the Iraqi Parliament MP Kazem Al-Hamami and members of the Committee, the importance of building on the meetings held by the Iraqi parliamentary committee with its counterpart in the Jordanian Parliament and meetings with the competent ministers, and thus contribute to unify the joint efforts to benefit from Opportunities in various vital sectors of the two countries, especially the services sector.

Al-Muasher stressed the importance of building on the results of the visit of Prime Minister Omar al-Razaz to Iraq and the mutual visits of the ministerial and parliamentary delegations in both countries, in order to ensure the transition to practical steps leading to projects on the ground that serve the economic, Bilaterally. 

The meeting also reviewed the benefit of Iraq from the Jordanian ports system in Aqaba, because of its quality facilities and geographical location, which provides easy access to various economic and commercial destinations in the region and the world. 

Moasher pointed to the positive steps that have been achieved so far by the Economic Committee to follow up the agreements between the two countries, which is chaired by the Jordanian side and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Hamouri.

For their part, praised the Chairman and members of the Committee on Services and Reconstruction in the Iraqi parliament, the level of concrete cooperation by Jordan to open up to Iraq and strengthen partnership with him in various sectors, valuing the constructive discussions they held with the committees of services in the National Assembly, both dignitaries and deputies, and with various Jordanian officials. 

They pointed out that in the context of exploring deeper opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation and benefiting Iraq from the advantages and facilities and the level of services that characterize Jordan, they will go to the city of Aqaba to see the development of the ports available to them and to serve the trade and transport sector in Iraq. 

They pointed out that a joint committee of concerned officials of the two countries will meet soon at the border crossing point for a closer look at the level of services on both sides and any obstacles or challenges facing the acceleration of work and achievement.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Musa Al-Maaytah, the Chairman of the Committee on Services and Transport in the Jordanian Parliament Khalid Abu Hassan and the member of the Committee, MP Mansour Saif Al-Din Murad, and the Iraqi Ambassador in Amman Safia Al-Suhail.

Amman, August 1 (Petra) - The Iraqi parliamentary delegation hosted by the Public Services and Transport Committee on Thursday visited the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to discuss ways to strengthen the economic ties of the two countries and address obstacles. 

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tarek Al-Hammouri, who attended part of the meeting, stressed the presence of a very strong insistence on the official level in both countries, whether from governments or the House of Representatives to activate their economic relations as soon as possible. 

He pointed out that there are great efforts and efforts exerted by various government institutions and the private sector in Jordan and Iraq to overcome the obstacles that hinder the two countries' trade exchanges, stressing that the results on the ground are not commensurate with the volume of work done in the recent period and culminated in the signing of many economic agreements.

He stressed the need to find a mechanism to limit the problems facing the trade of the two countries so that there will be a periodic meeting between the two sides to discuss problems and solutions and follow-up implementation in a manner that meets the hopes and aspirations and intentions and the will of Jordan and Iraq to achieve them. 

For his part, the head of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Alain Al-Kabariti, stressed that Jordan has strong relations with Iraq at various levels of official, popular and economic in particular, praising all efforts exerted to build new bridges of cooperation between the two countries. 

Al-Kabariti praised the victories achieved by Iraq against the forces of evil, sedition and terrorism, and presented a terrorist gang that was also destabilizing the security and stability of the region. 

He pointed out that the implementation of the agreements often need time to translate them on the ground in addition to the security arrangements and logistics, stressing the need to remove any obstacles that obstruct the flow of goods between the two countries.

Al-Kabariti presented a proposal to establish an office for economic coordination within the headquarters of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce to receive complaints and inquiries and follow up with the responsible authorities in both countries. He stressed the need for Jordan and Iraq to be partners in development rather than as competitors. 

He pointed out the importance of building a logistic city on the borders of the two countries to serve their common interests as well as expanding cooperation with other neighboring countries, stressing that the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce is also headed by a coordination office in its headquarters to address any obstacles facing the transport and logistics sector. 

"The visit of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation to Jordan is a real opportunity to discuss the problems to prevent the activation of relations and economic agreements concluded between the two countries," said the head of the Public Services and Transport Committee, MP Khalid Abu Hassan.

He expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation to discuss the issues and concerns of the two brotherly peoples. He pointed out that the Public Services and Transport Committee and its supervisory role started to discuss the Jordanian-Jordanian economic relations file after receiving complaints, observations and challenges. 

Abu Hassan said that His Majesty's visit to Iraq as the first Arab leader has opened up new horizons for cooperation between the two countries, noting that His Majesty always recommends facilitating the measures with the Iraqi side to reach the common economic integration. 

He added that the political will is available to reach the economic integration between Jordan and Iraq to benefit the two peoples, pointing out the difficulties and challenges that emerged after the signing of agreements between the two countries, which were discussed and discussed in detail with the parliamentary delegation,

The MP Abu Hassan, it is our duty as deputies to discuss the challenges in detail and dismantle and remove the various obstacles existing for the benefit of the parties and benefit from the agreements, which reflects on the real economic development of both countries by opening border crossings. 

He pointed to the existence of some recommendations reached which will help to remove obstacles, including the existence of a joint coordination office between the parties to discuss all issues and resolve, in addition to the meeting between the two committees within the boundaries of Trebil in the presence of the relevant bodies. 

In his turn, the Chairman of the Committee on Services and Reconstruction in the Iraqi Parliament, Kazem Al-Hamami, said that the visit of the parliamentary delegation to the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and meeting with the commercial activities aim to talk frankly and listen to the challenges facing the trade of the two countries, praising the historical ties and ties that bring them together.

He said that the Iraqi delegation came to Jordan to help and contribute to the problems and challenges that hinder his country's economic relations with the Kingdom and facilitate trade between the two sides. He said that Iraq has benefited from Jordan in many fields by reading the legislation and laws. 

He said that after Eid al-Adha, a parliamentary delegation will visit Tripoli to visit the other side of the Jordanian side and in the presence of various competent departments and the border port to discuss the issues and obstacles with these concerned parties to resolve all impediments to enhancing the trade of both countries. 

Al-Hamami pointed out that the joint coordination office will also be established to resolve outstanding problems and procedures and stalled projects.

For her part, the Ambassador of Iraq to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Safia al-Suhail, to the importance of research in the activation of memorandums of understanding and agreements linking the fortune-teller and Jordan to accelerate mechanisms to achieve economic integration between the two countries, stressing the political will of the two parties to promote joint cooperation. 

She expressed her belief that the prospects for cooperation are broad and there is a strong desire and will to strengthen the relations between the two countries, stressing the presence of directions from the Iraqi state to build strategic relations with Jordan at various levels and enable the private sector in Jordan to participate in the process of construction and reconstruction and vision of joint projects.

For his part, MP Mansoor Saif Al-Din Murad said that the meetings that took place and what was reached through the information about the obstacles of trade between the two countries and the establishment of the coordination office led to the necessity of forming a lobby lobby with the Jordanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to monitor the implementation of the agreements. He urged governments to implement them to serve the interests of the two countries. 

During the meeting, the members of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation and representatives of the commercial sectors presented many issues that the two countries should cooperate in addition to the issues of trade and industry, especially the construction of popular housing, contracting, construction, communications and information technology.

During their meeting on Thursday, the two sides stressed the importance of conducting a periodic review of the implementation of the agreements signed recently between the two countries in order to find suitable solutions to any obstacles or difficulties that may face the implementation of those agreements. The minister pointed out that the past few days witnessed meetings between the two sides to verify the progress of the work in all files, pointing out that the understandings between the two countries constitute a great economic opportunity for both sides, at the time he explained that it was agreed on the need to clarify some things to help the two sides to increase the movement of economic exchange Between the two sides.

He added that we believe in the importance of cooperation and coordination to address the economic issues and challenges that have contributed significantly to slowing the growth rates of the two brotherly countries, stressing that despite the challenges, we have the will and determination to follow the steps of building and cooperation to serve the two countries and the two brotherly peoples. 

The minister pointed out that Jordan and Iraq have made great strides in enhancing the bilateral relations, which were reflected in the recent royal visit to Baghdad and the high-level official exchange visits which culminated in the agreement of the two parties on a number of important understandings and vital projects announced during the official meeting between the prime ministers of both countries at the crossing Al-Karama - Trebil in February, which would push forward Jordanian-Iraqi relations and positively reflect on the two countries and peoples.

The head of the committee for services and reconstruction in the Iraqi parliament, Kazem al-Hamami, stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation relations in all fields, especially economic and trade. He said that Jordan and Iraq have a strong desire to strengthen their relations and work together to overcome all difficulties and obstacles facing the process of cooperation, Signed between the two countries and major projects such as Jordan-Iraq Joint Economic City and issues of transport and trade through the Al-Karama-Trebil crossing.

Abu Hassan stressed the need to remove all obstacles that impede the implementation of the joint agreements and trade between Amman and Baghdad, calling for taking measures to facilitate the process of crossing through the border crossing of Trebil. 

The two parties agree to start the door to door of goods and goods of perishable and petroleum products between the two countries, exempt the Iraqi goods imported through Aqaba by 75% of the handling fees at the port of Aqaba, and allow the trucks of the two countries to enter empty without the need for permits and Trucks of the two countries, facilitating the granting of visas to drivers for six months and several trips for freight drivers in both countries.

The agreement also included activating the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers adopted in 2017 to exempt the list of Jordanian customs duties from customs duties. The countries took several measures to expedite the establishment of the Joint Jordanian-Iraqi Economic City, which constitutes an opportunity to build a joint Jordanian- An understanding in the field of energy between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Iraqi Ministry of Oil to re-export 10 thousand barrels per day of Kirkuk oil to Jordan, taking into account the cost of transportation in the price calculation, in addition to cooperation in the field of electrical connection Between the two countries.

The agreement also includes the establishment of the Joint Jordanian-Iraqi Economic City, which represents an opportunity to build joint Jordanian-Iraqi industrial integration and contribute to achieving the desired economic development for both countries. Work is under way to complete the necessary legal procedures to grant the Joint Economic City the privileges, exemptions and additional incentives for all economic activities to be established in the city, based on the relevant legislation.

Amman, August 1 (Petra) - The Iraqi parliamentary delegation, hosted by the Public Services and Transport Committee, visited the General Customs Department, where they were received by the Director General of the Customs Brigade Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Rahamna and a number of senior officials of the Department. 

At the beginning of the visit, which was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Amman Safia Al-Suhail, Rahamna welcomed the guest delegation, stressing the depth of economic relations between the two brotherly countries and the mechanism of its development in various fields of customs work. 

He also stressed the importance of electronic exchange of information and the development of the electronic tracking system between the two customs administrations, which reflects positively on the movement of trade exchange, pointing to the importance of holding joint technical committees between the two sides to develop mechanisms of work in the customs field to provide safe and stable trade movement. 

During the visit, they discussed the most important challenges facing the two parties and the development of appropriate solutions to solve them.

In turn, praised the head of the "parliamentary transport" Khaled Abu Hassan, the advanced level reached by the General Customs and tasks carried out, pointing out that it is now one of the best twenty countries in the security and facilitation of trade across the border. 

He said that this institution is considered one of the leading institutions in the country under the distinguished customs services provided to the clients according to the best international practices in cooperation and effective coordination with all partners. He pointed out that it succeeded in creating a fair competitive environment for the business sector and contributing to increasing competitiveness of the national economy. . 

Abu Hassan stressed the need for coordination between all parties in the center of dignity and the center of Trebil to resolve and overcome all obstacles to everyone.

For his part, the guest delegation, headed by Kazem Al-Hamami, expressed his admiration for the level reached by the Jordanian customs of development in various fields of customs work, stressing the importance of future cooperation to raise the efficiency of trade exchange between the two countries.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tareq Al-Houri discussed with an Iraqi parliamentary delegation representing the Committee of Services and Reconstruction in the Iraqi Council of Representatives headed by Kazem Al-Hamami means of enhancing joint cooperation and overcoming all challenges and obstacles facing the joint agreements and projects between the two countries. 

The two sides stressed during their meeting yesterday in the Ministry of Industry and Trade the importance of periodic review of the implementation of the agreements signed recently between Jordan and Iraq in order to find appropriate solutions to any obstacles or difficulties that may face the implementation of those conventions.
 
Al-Hamouri pointed out that periodic meetings were held between the Jordanian and Iraqi sides, whether in Amman or Baghdad, to follow up on the implementation of the signed agreements and that the last few days witnessed meetings between the two sides to verify the progress of the work in all files.

Al-Hammouri said that the understandings between the two countries constitute a great economic opportunity for both sides pointing out that it was agreed on the need to clarify some things to help the two sides to increase the movement of economic exchange between the two sides.
