In the presence of Mr. Hassan al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Committee for Peaceful Co-operation was hosted by MP Dr. Aboud al-Issawi on Tuesday, 30/7/2019 A delegation from the United Nations Undp chaired by Zina Ali Ahmed, the Resident Representative of the Organization to discuss the establishment of the concepts of coexistence and social integration and the prevention of extremism and the rejection of violence in the provinces liberated from the gangs of terrorist Da'ash. . 

At the beginning of the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Committee, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the desire of the Presidency of the Council in cooperation with the Committee for peaceful coexistence to be a permanent committee because of the important work entrusted to it.


Mr. Al-Kaabi pointed out that reconciliation is the main means to reach coexistence with all components of society, hoping that the work of co-existence within the common goal between the Committee and the United Nations and trade unions and federations and universities, stressing the need to establish seminars for coexistence in various universities to implant coexistence among elites, Security and stability. 


For his part, MP Aboud Al-Issawi, Chairman of the Committee on Peaceful Co-operation, urged the delegation to provide the expertise available to the organization and to benefit from it to support the work of the Committee, especially in the matter of legislating the laws of the National Program for the Protection of Peaceful Coexistence and the law of preventing discrimination and diversity. Areas with problems and finding appropriate solutions.


For his part, MP Safa al-Ghanim stressed the need to hold seminars and workshops and a realistic program on the field in various provinces of Iraq, and concluded that the country is going through a difficult stage and that there is an intellectual struggle between all religions, stressing the importance of changing and fighting the thought Daashi.


For her part, MP Dr. Jumaili urged the importance of adhering to the identity of national unity and rejecting extremism that disintegrates society. He stressed the importance of following up the issue of missing persons from some liberated areas from terrorist gangs and freeing innocent people as quickly as possible to instill trust among the components of society. . 

The deputies also called on the members of the Committee Qusay al-Hatabi and Aswan Chaldean members of the organization to work together in the province of Nineveh to address the large problems in the areas of the province, stressing the importance of fighting the thought Da'ashi and change some of the religious discourse, which calls for sectarian rhetoric and rehabilitation of youth and the establishment of workshops and seminars in villages, In the province and the restoration of some of the districts that were demolished during the liberation.

In her turn, Ms. Zeina Ali Ahmed, FAO Resident Representative stressed the organization's readiness to work with the committee and its participation in all projects, events and activities that it intends to carry out in the next phase. The committee is proposed to include the concepts of coexistence in the curricula of different groups, In order to begin its implementation in the provinces and regions which the Committee for Peaceful Coexistence considers to begin.
