The Lebanese Minister of Health Jamil Jabbak said after meeting with President Michel Aoun that "there was consensus on the introduction of Lebanese medicine to Iraq. In return, the Iraqis will enter Lebanon to recover under the umbrella of the ministry and protect it under the problems that were exposed to it."

With this brief statement from the presidential palace, the door of the door opened for Lebanese medicine to invade Iraqi markets. In return, the Iraqi patient will enjoy privileges within Lebanese hospitals.

What does the resolution mean, and how will Lebanon benefit from the agreement?

The Minister of Health, Mohamed Ayyad, explains the mechanism of the agreement between Iraq and Lebanon and how the Lebanese side can benefit by opening up Iraqi markets to Lebanese factories. The Ministry of Health estimates that Lebanon is benefiting between one and two billion dollars a year out of the 6 billion Iraqi medicine bill. Today, only two factories export Lebanese medicines to Iraq, in a shy way.

On the other hand, the Iraqi Health Minister will visit Lebanon to sign the agreement with Lebanon in the coming weeks, with Iraqi patients enjoying privileges within Lebanese hospitals.

These privileges are summarized by the opening of an office of the Ministry of Health in Iraq and an office in Lebanon, through which the Iraqi patient presents papers, while the office sends its file to Beirut. After studying, the patient communicates with him and offers him several hospitals in Lebanon and a number of doctors to follow up his condition with them. He himself is the name of the hospital and the doctor in proportion to his situation. The importance of the agreement is that the Iraqi patient is no longer subjected to blackmail of brokers. The matter will be under the supervision of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, and the ministry will work to provide low prices for Iraqi patients like the Lebanese, especially since many complaints by the Iraqi Embassy in Lebanon Brokers and some incompetent doctors.

Ayyad stressed that a delegation from Lebanese hospitals was accompanying the minister in his visit to Iraq, and there were positive signs of mutual benefit between the two sides, and these hospitals will provide facilities for Iraqi patients.
