The Committee on Integrity in the Iraqi Council of Representatives on Tuesday received the Parliament more than (40) requests to lift the immunity of deputies.

"The presidency of the Council of Representatives, received more than (40) requests from the judicial authorities to lift the immunity of deputies, on various issues not related to corruption only."

He pointed out that "these requests are not limited to 40 deputies, perhaps there is more than one request for one deputy," saying that "these requests so far at the Presidency of the House of Representatives, and has not been presented until the moment on the parliamentary committees concerned, so we know from these deputies."

This comes at a time when the President of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Faik Zaidan, the House of Representatives to lift the immunity of its members accused of corruption cases while taking executive duties, while stressing the cooperation between all organs in the field of integrity issues.
