Mr. Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, the great efforts made by the Presidency of the Council of Representatives and the committees of the regions and provinces, legal and parliamentary members of the House of Representatives in the vote on the first amendment to the law of elections provincial councils not organized in the province and district No. 12 of 2018, Which preceded the voting session, which is the holding of consultation sessions and workshops and seminars throughout the previous periods in order to reach a formula with legal provisions that satisfy the citizen and meet his ambition first and last.
Al-Kaabi said in a statement Tuesday, July 23, 2019, that the law voted on yesterday evening, including the holding of local elections in all provinces, including the province of "Kirkuk" dear, more than 14 years after the last elections, is a key pillar in the process of urban stability, And the consolidation of the democratic foundations in the country, especially as it reflects the will of the Iraqi voter in the selection of local administrations "legal" to provide the best services without delay.
He pointed out that the House of Representatives had allocated a very large budget for the development of the regions, and these funds need people who are loyal to their people and qualified "excellence" able to manage and classify them in a good, professional and fair, and turn them into projects of priority and concrete for citizens in all governorates.
He called on the First Vice-President of the Council Federal Government and the Independent Electoral Commission to prepare all the requirements of the electoral process, which was identified in early April of 2020 and provide all the technical, logistical and security aspects necessary to ensure the success of the election process and preserve the integrity and impartiality, stressing that the legislative authority in its current session will stand strongly against Anyone who tries to target the democratic process and the foundations of its consolidation and preservation.
