A former Iraqi executive for Ona Oil admits bribes
Economy News Baghdad
A former partner of Iraq, Una Oil, a Monaco-based oil and gas consultancy, has pleaded guilty to five counts of bribery in the first conviction of a three-year criminal investigation by Britain's Serious Fraud Office.
The 70-year-old Basal al-Jarrah pleaded guilty on July 15 to conspiring to award contracts for the supply and installation of single-floating platforms and oil pipelines in southern Iraq, the office said.
The agency noted that a court order to ban publication in the case was canceled on Friday.
