The Ministry of Planning discusses the criteria that will be adopted in the selection of members of the Private Sector Development Council
The Ministry of Planning discussed Thursday with representatives of the private sector and a number of government bodies the criteria for the selection of members of the private sector development council to be formed soon.
The Deputy Minister, Dr. Maher Hammad Johan, who presided over the meeting of the Technical Committee for the formulation of standards and final weights for the selection of members of the Council, stressed the importance of representing all sectors of development in the Private Sector Development Council, pointing out that there are 10 main sectors as well as other sectors, Private sector, which should be represented in the Council, in order to provide suitable conditions for its employees, pointing out that the sectors of agriculture, industry, trade, banking, insurance, contracting, public investment, tourism, communications and transport will be represented in the General Assembly, To the need for a representation of women in the Council.
The committee includes Dr. Ziad Awad Kazem, Chairman of the Central Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Hamoudi Abbas Hamid, a member of the Board of Advisors, the Director General of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry, Salam Said Ahmed, Dr. Alaa Eddin Jaafar, Director General of Economic and Financial Policies, Sabri Botros, and the Advisor of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks Samir Al-Nusairi. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hana Ismail Ibrahim, Director General of the Legal Department, and Spokesman Abdul Zahra Al Hindawi in the Ministry of Planning.
The meeting discussed the criteria and weights chosen for the formation of the Private Sector Development Council in light of the directives of the Minister of Planning, as well as the discussion of the draft rules of procedure of the Council, the procedures for the formation of the General Assembly and the selection of members.

A member of the economic business council Baqir al-Mashat stressed on Thursday the need for government attention to the private sector.
"The private sector is the engine of economic development and achieves the economic well-being of the country," he said in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press.
He pointed out that "the Iraqi state to launch facilities for the private sector to support the most public sector companies within the national economy."
The Mashat pointed out that "the initiative trillion dinars for small and medium projects launched by the Central Bank of Iraq attempt to reform from the bottom up to create the private sector expected."

Minister of Planning Dr. Nouri al-Dulaimi discussed with the Iraqi Economic Council ways to promote the private sector, stressing the government's direction towards supporting and empowering the private sector.
This came during a meeting with Dulaimi, the President of the Council Ibrahim al-Baghdadi, who put forward some visions and ideas related to the subject of the strategy of developing the private sector in Iraq, and the formation of the Council for the development of the private sector during the coming period. Absorption of graduates
The minister pointed to "the problem of the number of university graduates every year, and that the only solution to absorb them is embodied in empowering the private sector." Proposals of the Economic Council
