The Ministry of Transport, Sunday, the return of Iraq again to occupy his seat in the Arab Union of marine carriers.
The ministry said in a statement received by Mawazine News that "at the meeting of the eleventh session in the presence of the General Assembly for the 17th session of the members of the Arab Union, it was announced to accept the request of the Ministry of Transport to activate the role of Iraq in the work of the Union as a founding member."
The statement added that "the meeting included the appointment of Mohiuddin Abdul Rizq Al-Amara, Director General of the General Company for Maritime Transport as Assistant Secretary General in Iraq, to cooperate in the success of the Arab maritime transport process to achieve economic integration in all sectors."
"The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the League of Arab States is one of the prominent founders of the Union," said the Secretary-General of the Arab Federation of Naval Transporters, Mohamed Mustapha Itani. "Iraq has all the successful qualifications to return and to work hard to ensure the success of the Federation's work. All levels ".
The Minister of Transport, Abdullah Laibi, submitted a request in May 2019, to activate the role of Iraq in the work of the Union.
