Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Al Halbusi said on Wednesday that the security of diplomatic missions is a red line in Iraq during a telephone conversation with Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain Fawzia Abdullah Zainal.
"The right to demonstrate is legitimate in all democratic regimes, but the attack on diplomatic missions and installations and the safety of its security for Iraq is a red line, and can not be allowed to be touched at all," Halaboussi said, according to a statement by his media office. "There is a formal and popular condemnation of such illegal practices, which threaten diplomatic missions, their security and the safety of their personnel."
He added that "such acts are out of the law hope that does not affect the relations of Iraq with the Arab countries in general and the Kingdom of Bahrain in particular, and especially after the achievement of Iraq significant steps open to the Arab and regional environment," stressing that "the House of Representatives continued efforts to strengthen relations With Arab, Asian and international parliaments to serve the people. "
The Speaker of the House of Representatives also stressed that "the Iraqi government took all decisive and immediate measures to arrest the culprits; to refer them to the judiciary, and to provide necessary protection for the embassy building, and that it will not tolerate such attacks."
