The Saudi Capital Market Authority (CMA) has relaxed the restrictions on the ownership of foreign investors by 49 percent of listed companies.

The agency said on its official website on Wednesday, noting that it has implemented a series of reforms in recent years.

Saudi reforms aim to make the Saudi stock market, the largest in the region, a magnet for foreign investors and exporters.

The new move is aimed at helping to raise the attractiveness and efficiency of the financial market and expand the institutional investment base.

She pointed out that there is no minimum or maximum percentage of the target property of strategic foreign investors, noting that investors have to keep the shares for two years after the date of ownership before disposition.

These measures are part of the role of the CMA in organizing and developing the financial market and in order to raise the attractiveness and efficiency of the financial market, pointing out that it aims to expand the institutional investment base and in line with its strategic plan, , One of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs.
