The 13th International Exhibition and the 2nd International Forum for Construction, Construction and Engineering Industries will witness the signing of agreements, partnerships and coalitions that will enable the Jordanian contractor to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq. 
This came during a press conference held yesterday at the headquarters of the Contractors' Union to discuss the activities of the exhibition and the forum held by the union under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Omar al-Razzaz under the slogan «Jordan and Iraq partnership and building» in cooperation with the Arab Contractors Union and the Iraqi Contractors Union and Jordan Chamber of Industry during the period from 24 27th of this month at the Amman International Motor Show, while the opening ceremony will be held on the 25th of the month. 
Al-Yaqub added that the Iraqi side provided the contractors' syndicate with a list of reconstruction and investment projects worth 56 billion dollars and was presented on the union's website.
He stressed that the opportunity for Jordanian and Iraqi contractors to form partnerships and coalitions to benefit from the joint reconstruction projects available and that the union has made great efforts with the Iraqi side and local national institutions to benefit from them. 
Al-Yacoub discussed a number of facilities reached which would encourage the contractor to contribute to reconstruction projects, especially in relation to providing financial guarantees by the Central Bank to enable the contractor to contribute to foreign projects and recognition of the Jordanian contractor in Iraq and treating him as the Iraqi contractor. 
He also touched upon some of the obstacles that the contracting sector suffers from, which he said was intended and unintended, calling on the government to overcome them to increase the sector's contribution to the national economy.
He praised the distinguished reputation and respect enjoyed by the Jordanian contractor abroad, which was touched by the union during the visits to Iraq, Syria and Palestine and received guests from Libya. 
He pointed to the Iraqi participation unprecedented in the exhibition and the forum at the level of ministers and governors, Iraqi officials and businessmen and the Chairman of the Iraqi Investment Commission. 
He explained that the union will present its experiences on the Iraqi side, especially with regard to contracts of contracting and arbitration and the regulations and legislation governing the construction sector. 
The Jordanian contractor is a businessman who can work anywhere and has successful experiences in many Arab countries.
The press conference was attended by Vice-President M. Al-Khudairi and the secretary of the union. The committee's decision was made by Mr. Fuad Al-Duwairi, Treasurer of the Association M. Rafiq Murad and Board Member M. Azmi Zureiqat and Mohammad Al-Kuz and a representative of the Amman Chamber of Industry. 
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Engineers Syndicate, the Association of Investors in the Housing Sector and the Jordan Chamber of Industry are the supporting bodies for the exhibition and the forum which is held on an area of ​​7 thousand square meters.
