Iraq and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement on granting visas to Iraqi pilgrims from the Saudi embassy in Baghdad.

The official spokesman of the Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah Hassan Fahd Kanani, in a press statement followed by "economy News" that Sheikh Khalid Al-Attiyah (Chairman of the Commission) "met today with the Saudi ambassador in Baghdad, Abdul Aziz al-Shammari and it was agreed that the granting of visas for Iraqi pilgrims from the headquarters The embassy in Baghdad after an interruption lasted more than 30 years. "

He added that "the Authority has made great efforts to be granting visas to pilgrims from Baghdad, to facilitate this process and to gain the time and cost and effort that was made by the Authority every year, where the visas were granted from the Jordanian capital Amman."

Al-Attiyah thanked Saudi Ambassador Abdul Aziz Al-Shammari for his great contribution in taking this important step which strengthens the bilateral relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and relieves the burden on the Authority.
