US oil firm ExxonMobil announced Wednesday it plans to evacuate 20 foreign employees from the Iraqi province of Basra after targeting its headquarters there with rockets.

The agency "Reuters" Iraqi security sources said that two people were injured by a missile hit a complex of several companies, including "ExxonMobil" US in Basra, southern Iraq, early in the morning.

Oil sector officials said other companies were on the scene, including Royal Dutch Shell of the Netherlands and Italy's Eni.

The company, "Exxon Mobil" US, has postponed, last month, a number of employees from the field, "Qurna" oil in the province of Basra in southern Iraq, because of security threats, according to the company.
