Baghdad

The former governor of Basra, Judge Wael Abdul Latif, on Sunday, that the political forces in the country was not successful in choosing Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to lead the government.

Abdel Latif said in an interview with the "news" that "the last reference letter was harsh and strongly against the political forces."

He added that "the political forces were not successful to choose Abdul Mahdi for the post of prime minister," noting that "the political forces put pressure on the prime minister to run the state."

He added that "Iraq does not have a unified vision at home and this reflected negatively on foreign policy," noting that "Iraq's position on the US-Iranian dispute is vague and unclear."
