The General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, the official umbrella of Islamic financial institutions, launched in Istanbul today a technical workshop on stress testing for Islamic financial institutions to discuss the main applications and trends that support stress testing, Potential.

The three-day workshop opened with a welcoming speech by the Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the General Council, Zeinab Al Owainati, and the Banking Specialist of the Central Bank of Turkey, Erda Tekirdag. The participants from Bahrain, Sudan, Libya, Ghana, Ethiopia, the United States, Kuwait and Turkey represent the most important Islamic banks and financial institutions in the region, as well as a number of regulatory and supervisory authorities.

The workshop dealt with a number of practical cases and exchange of experiences by speakers with extensive experience in this area from the International Monetary Fund of the United States of America and the Turkish Agency for Monitoring and Regulation of Banking. It aims to enhance the skills of human resources in the Islamic financial industry. It is worth mentioning that the implementation of this workshop comes under the outputs of the third strategic objective of vocational rehabilitation and empowerment, through which the General Council seeks to develop professional capabilities and qualify human resources in the Islamic financial services industry.
