The Ministry of Planning, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, held a workshop on the role of parliament and the goals of sustainable development and the agenda of Iraq 2030 in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Alkabi and a number of members of the House of Representatives and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs Dr. Maher Hammad and a number of general managers, experts, .

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning said in his speech that the Ministry of Planning, by virtue of its duties, has been developing development plans using its national expertise based on its previous role in following up the Millennium Development Goals and setting the framework for follow-up implementation and review of the agenda through an institutional framework at various levels to follow up the implementation of the agenda Stressing the importance of supporting the House of Representatives emanating from the legislative and regulatory authority in conjunction with the support of the decentralized administration to carry out a revival of awareness in the provinces of Iraq to seek sustainable development. He pointed out that this agenda will be achieved under three development plans and under four governments and parliaments. He pointed out that the executive and legislative sides each have their own role: the executive in the harmonization of objectives, the legislative, which is important and which we require today to approve this agenda and objectives, and the need for the role of parliament.

First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives 

For his part, the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Hassan al-Kaabi said in a speech: The first objective of the agenda is to "eradicate poverty".
