Basra Oil Company revealed on Wednesday its intention to raise the production of West Qurna / 1 field.
The company said in a statement conveyed through its official account on the website - Facebook, it intends to raise production of West Qurna / 1 in the coming days at a rate of up to 50 thousand barrels per day with its national staff.

Exxon Mobil recently pulled a number of its West Qurna field workers temporarily or precautionally - despite their small numbers - and has nothing to do with the security situation in southern Iraq's oil fields or threats.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs in Iraq, the Minister of Oil, on Sunday, that the security and social conditions in southern Iraq is stable as the rest of the cities of Iraq, and that the international oil companies operating in the oil fields, especially in the provinces that enjoy security and stability.

The minister pointed out that the withdrawal for Iraq is unacceptable or justified because other international companies operate freely and safely and stability in the development of oil fields.
