Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs Dr. Maher Hammad Johan said that the Ministry of Planning has made great strides in achieving the goals of sustainable development in the belief of the importance of these goals and respect for our people who deserves a better lifestyle when sustainability is a way of life. 
In a speech at a workshop held by the ministry in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program to discuss the first voluntary report on sustainable development and the role of the private sector with the participation of representatives of the private sector and civil society organizations and related parties, At the national, regional and international levels, in our belief in one of the most important principles of sustainable development, stressing that the most prominent of these parties is the private sector because of its important and influential role in achieving partnership, transparency, integrity and accountability.


 To contribute to the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development and facilitate the introduction of technology, innovation and innovation, as well as contribute to economic development in general and take its role in the shared responsibility towards the environment and continuity of natural resources for future generations for the purpose of developing national ownership and a sense of responsibility to engage All in the process of sustainable development.


 He pointed out that work is continuing on the subject of sustainable development by the National Commission for Sustainable Development and the follow-up to the goals of sustainable development, which continued from 2006 until now, with the beginning of development development goals to reach the goals of sustainable development (the 2030 Agenda), praising the previous efforts in the field of sustainable development.


 The difficult security and political conditions of the previous period, many achievements have been the pillars of sustainable development.

The workshop was also presented by the Director General of the General Government Contracts Department at the Ministry of Planning Dr. Azhar Hussain Saleh on the first national voluntary report on sustainable development, during which the efforts, steps and mechanisms for the preparation of the first national voluntary report on sustainable development were presented.
